  • Installing Aftermarket Wheel + Boss

    Morning Guys,

Went to put on one of my Chrissy prezzies this morning, and when i place the Boss kit onto the Mk2 steering column it seems to want to short something out. I got a little crackle and some tiny smoke. So I quickly took it off. Everything works fine, no shorts. But any ideas what it could be??? I'm at a loss when it comes to car electrics... and dont want to blow anything.

    Thanks in advance..LVD

    Smoke

    Hi,

From my experience, the problem isn't when you let the smoke out...it is the difficulty that you will have getting the smoke back in

    Sorry, I couldn't help myself......

no idea to be honest, I imagine if it was the horn shorting, the horn would start going off.

All I can say is I never had a problem the one on my 16v.

Did you transfer the horn contact ring/ cancel ring accross to the new wheel?
