Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

it might be, however just buy a spare bumper (in the UK, pretty thin on the ground here!!!) and bolt that on for inspection over here, then when its all passed chuck the shaved one back on!

by the way, it depends what state ur gonna live in for yearly inspections, as melbourne only has 1 inspection per rego, eg.

once u get the car registerd and sighted, as long as you pay the yearly registration you gont need to get it inspected again, unless you get pulled over and caught for being too low or other silly stuff we have in this country, but if you never getpulled over and pay your rego each year, no one will care on inspecting your car

I would say run with it and see what is said in the inspection. Each person inspecting will find different issue.

I rekon what ever is modded you should get original and slap it on as it will be rare and expensive to change when you get over here.

              I reckon you`d be right.
It`ll be a personally imported vehicle and they have much more lax rules.
Fit a high level brake light and a support bar behind the back seats with a child support mounting point on them and it should pass aussie compliance easily.
Get those things done in the Uk and it will save you lots of messing about this end.
You can engineer anything in NSW it just costs money.
              Bring it, it looks tops.

You should be right mate. Just tell them that it never had side indicators and that the original ones were in the bumper, but you've moved them to the grill.

My old man would pass that, i reckon!
