This was the first off road Golf.
It is a modified Golf syncro which uses a viscous coupling.

            Personal taste...

Beauty is in the the of the beholder..... I'd have one if they were available here. Why do we miss out on all of these good things?? I would have thought that Oz would have been the first place VAG would send these cars.

                  The Import Debate

I don't really like resurrecting this....but we should be able to privately import all cars that weren't available in Oz.

I think it has to be pre 1988/89. As 88/89 is the year that the new RAWS system cut's in.
It cost's alot of money to setup a RAWS workshop too!
Also if you apply for a 1990 Volkswagen Golf RAWS, that's the only year you are able to bring in unless you apply for more year's & models which cost more money.
There's alot more to it as well.

The company that has the RAWS is also responsible everything too! Which means they are the only one's who can import the vehicle, convert it, make it comply with ADR's of that year the, engineer it & register it!

I know with Chevy truck's this is the last year you can bring in privately.
