Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        Must be one shagged mk2

They look cool, use very little fuel and weigh sweet FA hence can go round corners fast with big tyres on. If you can use them everyday they actually become pretty reliable it's being left idle for months/years that kills em

I'd love a car that is good on fuel and light and still awesome round corners...so far my car employs NONE of those features...but it sure is fast!

I reckon Mk1's are cool even if they're ratty and worn out and look badly maintained/CRAP because they're the initial idea that revolutionised the way people see Volkswagens today. Who woulda known the little golf would see 5 revamps and still be an awesome car! The same can't exactly be said for...a lancer. haha.

Mk1's are for the real men, who don't need all that bloody electronic stuff and so on. It'a little bit more work to drive as a modern car but you can feel your car in every second and this is awesome. Anyway, don't hesitate to buy one it will be worth every penny.

                        Cheers

                              ohh what can i say?
fun to drive, smells like an old car, goes better than a new one (when its not running lean )
simplicity to work on, and the sound of a 45mm weber less than an inch off your firewall
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life
