whats the biggest valves i can go for a 1600 head, it will also be sporting a grumpy cam but yet to decide on the specs.

    I think...

maybe 38mm intake and 36mm exhaust.

    i think.

that would give you 38+36 = 74mm, and the bore on the 1600 is what? 79mm? something like that?

His exhaust valves would be bigger than your inlets, wouldn't they?

at this present time yes LOL!

im aiming for 130hp i recon so i can compete with valvers

im also going to deck the head just a little to bring the comp up.

the 1.6 head can go on a 1.8 bottom end can it not?

                  Thought so.

                  130hp? That's easy.

the 1.6 head can fit on a 1.8 bottom end cant it? what hp should i be aiming for then?

should mention that im going to deck the head to raise comp JUST A TAD

Go to 11:1. That's what my 1.7 has got. Don't bash 5000 degrees of ignition into it and it's fine. (BRAAP!)

You can bump up the comp with high crowned pistons. That's what mine's got.

the head needs a skim anyway so i thought i may as well deck it cos i dont wanna buy pistons.

if the 1.6 head fits on the 1.8 bottom end i was thinking about getting a 1.8 bottom end and working that and putting the worked 1.6 head on it
