Quick question(s) about coilovers

Hey guys, I've just been perusing e-ghey and found these coilovers in the UK:

Works out to be roughly $370 before shipping.

My question is, are these ebay suspension kits good quality? Has anyone bought something like these? Or am I better off finding something locally?

I know there's the old argument you get what you pay for, but as I have no plans to put my mk1 on the track or anything like that, not looking at spending mega bucks.

Interested to hear your thoughts guys.

tonnes of us have the hottuning ones in our mk2's and mk3's; supplied by evorobin. i'm not sure how much he's selling them for these days though. they're great, highly recommended. car is not really very harsh for everyday driving and only slightly bouncy. plus they go SO low

As mischa said above, not to harsh & low as you want. I got mine from evorobin for $500 delivered to my front door for my cupra.

I still reckon the saying "you only get what you pay for" still stand's.

I'm currently using my KW V3's in my everydayer which is overkill I know, but they came out of my GTI which was crashed & didn't want them to go to waist. They're clocking up around 600-700km's a week.

I reckon If I was buying for an everydayer & still wanted adjustability, I still have some V2's hand's down for the street.

I think my V2's were about 2200, V3's are closer on 3000 but I bought these for their handling. And they stick like crap to a babys bum!!

To be honest the car would only be a weekend toy, not really caring about comfort (I'm 6'2, comfort has already gone out the window owning a mk1), just getting a nice stance, and some better handling.

Ever since I've owned this car the shocks have been shot, crashing and rattling over any bumps in the road, and swaying like a boat, so any improvement over this would be great

If I was to get something like these, would want them to be reliable.

i know the feeling, when i got my little beige mk1 the shocks were completely shot, and every bump i went over the front end of the car would keep bouncing as it putted down the road haha ( - not as fun as it sounds however).
then i got hooked up with some used koni coils, and pheeewww the different is phenomenal! it was good coz they were cheap being used and still in alright nick, rather than forkin out a couple grand for some strewth-hot kws.

but reading this thread i have been wondering what the hottuning ones that ive seen about are like, has anyone tried them AND like v2s in a mk1?
i reckon ill need some more coils soon for my other mk1 so i am very keen to hear some more opinions of the two as a comparitive also. be good if i could save a lil dosh by getting the hottuning ones if they are as good as what im hearing, haha. cheers

I think from memory my V3's are 340lbs on the front & 285lbs rear

I second that. For that kinda project mate you spend dosh on some high quality coilovers. Spend a bit more and save yourself the drama in the long run

Yeah, that’s pretty much in the ball park! Probably go up in the rear a bit.
