Hi , I am from the UK originally and always had MK1 golfs, followed the scene.

Had a car in a magazine and also was on TV with a MK1.

Been living in Australia a year now and just got my hands on a MK1 cab !

Can anyone help me find spares here in Australia, preferably Queensland ?

Coming from the UK I am shocked at how cheap VW's are compared to the UK, especially aircooled models.

Cabs are not much cheaper. But the condition of them is far better due to dryer weather and less salt on the roads.

I would buy here mate, although quite rare if you find one it will probably be in better condition than anything you have seen back home. Unless you come from South Africa.

you just missed klubfest '08 which was a show/swap meet for aircooled and watercooled dubbers. i have a mate with 2 MK1's (which he is selling cheap) and an MK2 GTI (which won standard watercooled of the show). he found the swap meet very helpful in the parts division. if you are looking for any certain parts i could ask him as he picked up a few business cards from some of the parts dealers there.

Thanks Ryhs, Only picked up the car this weekend gone bye.

Ideally looking for a set of wheels for my MK1, prefer an original type wheel , P Slot or something from a MK1 GTI.

Would consider something else though as the ones on it are a bit tatty.

I also need some of the plastic moulds on the centre of the panels, including those little white clips.

I could travel down to surfers way, it is about a 40 min drive from me !

I lived about 5 minutes drive from Santa Pod raceway and used to go to many VW meets.

Yeah I miss the UK for the VW scene. But hey I can have my own little scene here.

I have not scene a sportsline here. Would love one.

To be honest the cost of import makes it unviable to send over !
