  • The never ending project

So I got abit lazy and completely forgot the forums still existed with all these fb hype pages but I'm finally back, and this time it's with something not so new! My mk1 caddy

I'm sure many already on here would know it as Petes caddy or should I say ollllddd caddy

It's been through the books since I bought it and as it sits I could say it's a different car since I bought it

sadly after purchasing the caddy, many things decided to let go within the first few weeks of owning it,

    - steering rack completely **** itself.. Teeth where sheered off
    - two cv's let go
    - master cyclinder seals went

But me being me, I continued on my terrible luck with cars.. And ended up with a cracked head on my hilux, plus a few other things which ended up in me and my mate having to rebuild the motor.. Couple thousand later it was back on the road leaving me absolutely no money to fix the caddy

A few things I've done to it so far

    - genuine bbs steering wheel
    - sold the 16" bbs Rs and got some genuine 4x100 15" Rs centres and barrels of Ray
    - ordered new lips and refurbished the wheels
    - axle flipped the rear beam, 2" drop plates that my girlfriends dad happily made at work on the cnc
    - air shocks in the rear also!
    - pulled the steering rack out and got rid of the crappy power steering, replaced it with a manual steering rack from my stack of mk1 parts laying around! It got a overhaul with all the bushings, new joints etc.

As of now I've been extremely lazy with the car and been busy workin on mates cars aswell as my brothers 2 door mk1 instead.. Whoops

But I shall try and update this regularly and get this damn caddy back on the road

but I do have big plans for it

    - tuck the wiring in the engine bay, as i cannot stand it.. As a sparky it's really getting my ocd going
    - repraint the bay and the car in a nicer shade of black, not a fan of the matte black
    - put the car on air as it's still static besides the air shocks in the rear
    - build my spare aeb motor and put a gtx3582 on that aswell as hopefully converting it to awd when my gf's dad gets spare time to help me

    The list goes on lol

                      Bit of a update!
                      My bags arrived from airlift!
Reason for not buying the pre made ones is that we want to be able to get the height and ride stiffness just right to be perfect for performance application

And no currently looking at doing a 4 link rear end with air bags also!

Yeh the master cyclinder was used in the caddy with a big booster for the larger brakes I have

Could do with another one as this one has broken..
