16vt45s I recon a roof rack would look so cool on your machine,
I remember putting bodykits on mk1s and did they looked great at the time.Tastes change but the basic look of the mk1 will always be with us.

Mk1,s are getting old and unless they're looked after they won't always be with us.everyone seems to be following the lowrider type trend with two tone paint and such like and i agree its a passing trend just as 17 inch wheels and G60 ARCHES WHERE IN THE MID 90's some styles work and others just suck but at least all vee dubs don't look the same

hmm, it seems i have a lot to say on this topic... should i shouldnt i... why not...

im not sure who of you have seen my blue monster (pics available in members rides - blue diesel thingy...) but lets look at this from an artistic perspective...

im of the belief that car "looks" are an unhealthy thing... the "lowrider look" as someone put it, the "ricer" look (yellow peril anyone???#YUK#) - these are baskets that people often feel their car should fall into...

this really shouldnt be the case... what about pure individualism? personally, i've styled my car on a parts availablilty basis, and the fact im as poor as a uni student

this is not to say that its not how i want it to look - infact my car is pretty much how i want it to look...except the wheels, which i'd like to change, and if anyone wants to donate some to the cause contact me, hehe. no really - hey the wheels cost me $100 and they are very practical...

anyway, looking around me.... no two golfs should ever be the same. dont make them look the same... not even a little, unless thats what you like... roofracks, steelies, no doorhandles, whatever. heck, make bits for your car, i do, and some peopl even like them, but who cares about everyone else. make your mk1's YOURS!

having said that, what the heck is this roof extension stuff??? i thought it was just snow stuck on the top of the car???

First picture looks like my driveway a couple of months ago...

Anyway, locally the roof extension is know as "winter-look". It's really popular from November to March....

                          Now, now boys...

Each to their own. I reckon that car's taken enough of a caning already. Let's give it a rest. (No doubt this will all happen again at next year's Nats. anyway.)

Man, i gotta say, i love the retro look with the racks. I would do a MkI like that if I was doing a resto right now. None in Australia. As for the yellow peril? It deserves all the crap it gets. It is too wrong. Back on topic, I love the green colour. And I am glad we dont have to worry about snow all winter...
                              Euro look 2... Mk2 love!

Good on you Steve. I`m also not ashamed to put my hand up a say F**k the yellow peril. Its so bad, it deserves all it gets. It makes me ashamed that people will see that in the newsagent and think that epitomises the Golf down under. I`m going the the Garage to finish a better one....Shouldn`t take long
