93 Cab Auto to Manual Converssion

Thanks to the great help gathered from the experience of others in this forum I have nearly finished converting my daughter's neat little black '93 Cab from auto to manual.(Heat exchanger leak dumped all coolant into auto and dispatched the Dexron under the car).
Not a small task!!!
I am in the fortunate position of having purchased a Manual '91 Cab for spares so the bits have been OK.
Drives (mostly)well, shifts nicely, no leaks and the synchro is strong.
My remaining issue is whether I need to change the throttle body over.
Idle with the auto body is wrong and the 1-2 choke transition has a hesitation.
On the last lap I hope.

I think the throttle body will be the same, but the auto and the ac have little solenoid pumps to bump up the idle to keep it running. Worth checking that the kjet systems are exactly the same on both cars.

Are you gonna wreck the donor car? I want a set of Swaybars from it.

The auto body has a reed switch which is closed until the trhrottle is at idle. It must nudge the throttle for the auto/AC vehicles using electronic treachery; there are no actuators in the mechanical linkages.
I ended up swapping the units over this am and for whatever reason, after cleaning and adjusting the idle air by-pass, the niggles have dissappeared. Time will tell.
The Jetronic boxes from both vehicles have the same part number so I am assuming they have both the auto and manual functionality resident; just accessed via different I/O's.

Sorry, I'd be happy to see the swaybars go to a good home, but someone else obviously had the same thoughts as you before I got to it.

I am quite enjoying driving my daughter's little black cab at the moment. I might need quite a while to finish shaking out all the bugs.

Sadly. the vehicle I am harvesting from has taken a heavy hit; right rear. The platform is seriously shorter on that side. Surprisingly, drivers door still opens and closes OK.

I started shopping to replace the lock handles on the soft-top and a headlight lense which had forgotten its place in the universe. When I saw the donor vehicle I knew I couldn't let so many spare part opportunities pass by and I took the whole thing. Given history so far, a good choice.

Cost me $900 for a vehicle that was in good nick from the B pillar forwards.
Also has a serviceable hood pump and switchgear.

If I was sourcing from VW, the savings on spares have already paid for the donor car 3 or 4 times over.

Can't interest you in a watercooled auto trans at all?
It's still pushing Dexron flavoured foam from the breather even though it is now safely on the ground and as far away from a serviceable vehicle as possible.
I still can't believe VW used a box that drove as if it came from a combine harvester.
Ironically, my previous project of about the same magnitude was an overhaul of the hydraulics on a BTD6. If anyone in this forum knows what that is, they will appreciate that this little trans convo is not one to take on lightly. Then again, the benefits of the manual over the auto are particularly attractive.

Box Hill.

It's a JH, with 200+k's, but it appears to have been serviced by people who knew what they were doing and there is not much evidence of wear. Oil smells good and the induction system is clean as a whistle.

Given the serious benefit the rest of the car has delivered so far, I think I would prefer to hang on to the motor for the time being. Good luck.
