  • oil pressure guage on mk1

    just wondering where to connect the capilary line to read out the oil pressure?
    TDI mk1 on the road!!

    There are a few possibilities. If you have a blank or unused sender on the top of the oil filter thats the best. Or on the end of the clyinder head above the gearbox. There will be either a sensor or a blank there too.

      If you want to keep your light when using the cylinder head sender aperture, buy a "T" piece. They're available from most accessory stores and some engineering and plumbing outlets.

        i ran mine from the out let on the side of the block with a t piece to retain the factory sender

        just confused me that damm gauge

          sender should be on the head if possible as you want to know that there's press to the top of the motor. As for the spare you could put an oil temp gauge in near the filter which would give you an idea also that the general temp of the car is incheck.
