  • 2 door swallowtail shell - save it!

    Fellows,

Its high time I made a decision regarding the 76 2 door swallowtail race-car shell I have. Its been hanging around in my parents paddock for about 2 years, it was in my front yard for about 2 years before that, and with new familt commitments and house renovations to get into I can't keep it like this any longer - it needs to be brought inside now and restored soon.

What is it I am offering here? Basically its a bare shell, 72 2 door swallowtail. It has all panels, and is very straight. It needs 2 new doors unless you are a keen welder, but basically the body is sound apart from the doors.

about 4-5 years ago, mollins and I started work on it, stripped and painted the shell
(no doors, hatch or wings). Since then nothing has happened.

Previous to me having hte car, it had a rollcage welded in and the front floors welded up. It only has a half cage at the moment.

It would be a mammoth effort to get it back to a road car, but certainly not impossible. Better would be to build a race car out if it, as you could do as much or as little work as you liked. Its got all its suspension, and a steeing rack. The bay is empty and has been painted.

I dont have any current photo's yet, but I will try to get some soon. The car is currently on the mid-north coast. I will bring it back to sydney area (central coast) and deliver it (within reason) at no charge, if I get some token money for the car.... shall we start at $250...?

Here are a couple of photos of it back in the day:

as it was when mollins aquired it

its a bit worse than the above photo now.

        edited main post.

new photos below - I inadvertently lied before, its pretty dirty inside so difficult to tell the condition of the floors. My dad (who took the photos, the car is 300km from me atm) said "not too bad apart from the front floors".

Would you cut the cage out? I'm pretty keen on that
