If you can get the foreign piece out of there you might be lucky and its still driveable. It would have dented the crap out of the piston and the head but hasn't necessarily damaged the valve seats and the valves are so hard, they are probably ok. My brother had a fiat that swallowed a nut from the carbie and it dinged everything up but it still lived to see many more days. It never damaged the valve seat so it was ok. You could be lucky.

we're just going to change the donk, why stuff aroun when you have a fresh reliable motor sitting there?

True I could swap the heads out, I could leave it on and fish out the FOB and i could do alot.

but josh's 1600 is much fresher than mine, even before the damage. So cause it's avaliable, I'll do that. I don't really have time to "try" things out with nats not that far away.

Mollins, as much as I'd love to, I don't have that kinda coin, otherwise I'd put a 1.8 or 2.0 L in now or a crazy 1.9! hahaahah

Sounds like you may have dropped the head off a valve.. Means its pretty terminal and not a quick fix.

If you're interested i'm going to sell my 1.7 in my goof. It's got plenty of grunt (massive list of mods, if you're interested, i'll tell you) if you're looking for a good donk later on. Not in a hurry to sell it.

                          lunch time

                          as richie benau would say..

                          ...and that's lunch

bahahah. finally got round to ripping my head off this arvo. (had nothing better to do really), and as Preen had predicted and I hoped myself too, I've droppped a valve. Damage is quite evident, so there's no point repairing this engine really. Not that I'm fussed. I'll just pop a new one in.

Still not sure what caused the damage actually, but I have my suspicions.

and really, what you've all been waiting for..

                          THE PICS!!!

                          (sorry for the fuzzyness..)

Yes, that is actually stuck in the piston! hahaha I'm quite proud of myself actually. piston 4 will go in my bed head as a trophy I think...
