  • Mk1 cabby running hot / squealing

Any help would be appreciated greatly.

I had an issue that my car would overheat within 5 minutes of driving

After replacing my waterpump, thermostat, upper and lower radiator hoses, expansion tank and cap, and the sensors. Also replaced the belt.

My still runs hot after 10min of driving

Now my car has started squealing when I accelerate.

If you could throw some suggestions at me, that would be great. Im all out of ideas

Thanks. I guess it would be the only part I havent replaced.

Any ideas on the squealing? Could it be the belt/alternator

Squealing, loose alt belt, would explain temps too

Try to rub a bar of hand soap on the belt, see if it changers the sound, if not could be your new water pump? Or one of the other bearings on one of the other pulleys?

You may also have some air trapped in the system, and as previous poster said impeller may be clogged or fouling, which is putting strain on water pump, hence the squealing belt
