Does anyone know what the JN 1.8 engine is like or if anyone has any past experience with this engine?

    Cheers

My Cabby has a JH 1.8 on k-jet... Biggest downfall is the 7.0:1 compression ratio...

Not sure about the JN though...

      Edit:
ID code- GX, JN, ACC 1.8-litre, 66 kilowatts (90 PS; 89 hp) — 1983–present Volkswagen Quantum, Volkswagen Fox, Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Jetta

ID code- JH, MZ 1.8-litre, 70 kilowatts (95 PS; 94 hp) — 1982–1989 Volkswagen Rabbit, Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Scirocco
Not too sure on the differences to the JH, but it would be a step back for me... Unless it was a full EFI engine...

Well the reason I ask is I've got one in my mk1 with a solex progressive carby and it revs a little freely, like I mean off the tacho kinda freely
