so I bought another mk1.....
this 2dr swallowtail (april '76) originally came from Tasmania, but i bought from jarred in February this year as a longish term project,
most of the body is straight, but it looks like it has been through a few minor accidents...
one of which looks like just a typical front right shunt, but had been professionally fixed quite some time ago.
the other however, well thats the interesting part of this car...
someone had a go at repairing a section between the firewall and around the RHF turret, but did they make a job of it!!!!
from this repair, the lack of rust preventative provided a great place for more rust to develop, so basically the section needs replacing again.
I have got full access to my old man's factory for the next few months, so plans are to get the front end rust repaired and aligned properly!! good thing i've got a few mk1's at my disposal to measure off
after the repairs are complete, paint then ill think about what direction the car will go.
the way i see it, it is a 2dr swallowtail, so it deserves saving.
pics tell 1000 words, so here they are

and today's antics consisted of pulling the engine out and striping it down.. huge thanks to Elton and Dyt for the extra hands!
