door handles ???????

what i need to know is if you can put the 77 onwards
door handles and mech into a 76 door
I've got three broken / cracked door handles and
the 77 mechanism and door handle seem to work better
or should i just swap doors (the 76 ones will be easyer to sand back)
help or ideas would be great

Tim (golfworx) was trying to do it once and I remeber him saying it was a PITA. I'd have a look at the mechanisms and try and compare. I'm pretty sure you'll have a bit of a struggle fitting 76 into a 77, but I'm not sure visa versa. I've seen handles on ebay and stuff, and they seem to be specifally for 77 onwards.

Maybe just have to hunt around for some 76 handles, much easier than doing the doors i'd say. but up to you.

The 77 is a weird car, unique and different to 76 and 78on!

There are 2 basic types of handle, one type push in the other type push down.

Some of the door hinges are different which makes swopping fun!

sounds like i'll give it a try the hard way
just the way the 77 counter levers seem better
and less likely to be broken
cause i've gone through a few 76 ones already
all the ones on the 77 donar car of mine are good
rear hatch will fit no probs wont it?? (cause its better than the other one)
