Who has replaced the seal on their windows, Im thinking about doing all 4 on my 3 door. There all faded and the chrome strip is brown and yuck. Can a local window mob do it like O'Briens and what cost would be involved?? Let me know your thoughts...LVD

I have found one ebay store that stocks them and rabbitparts.com also do. The one seal i couldn't find on either of them was a rear window one. Will post the link to the ebay store when i get home. They are pretty good, both have them with or without the chrome strip insert.
Curious for an answer from people who have recently bought seal as i need to get them for my mk1.76 MkI 3 door - daily drive/project - 1.8 5speed

i got a rear window seal second hand of intensemk1, wlthough I'm sure he doesn't have a whole bunch of em! the man you need to have a chat too is Pete Jones, he's been in contact with a ebay fella, who is selling mk 1 window seals, i thikn the whole lot too. search for it on ebay.com.au, phils rotary's i think it's called.
he also sells the "chrome" (i think) but they are the wrong profile, or something, Pete will tell ya how it is.
I'm getting a new front windscreen (with original seal) popped in tomorrow, by jims windcreens, for $220, which is the best price I found, over the obriens etc by about 30 bucks at least. One of the places said, that it would be cheaper for me (the buyer) to buy a seal else where and use that.

Yep, I got some of the locally made ones, I popped a back one in the other weekend, it went in OK but the supplied Chrome is the wrong profile and I haven't had a chance to get back to the seller and sort it out yet.
In hindsight it might have been better to import them.
There's a US ebay seller that has the lot, rubbers with and without provision for the strips, the strips themselves as well as the chrome clips to cover the join in the strip. I'll have to look up his details tonight, from memory his seller ID is MK 1 autohouse or something similar. I think his rubbers were US$50-60 which would probably work out about the same with postage as the locally produced ones for AU$100 ea. I might end up having to get the chrome strips off him in any case.
