Can anyone recommend a where to get a outer roof for my Mk1 cabrio?

I have had a look round the net but recommendations are worth a million dollars.

Dont mind buying over seas or interstate if you get a better quality product for your money.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rob

We used these guy's convertable top...

Volkswagen/VW Car Hoods | Soft Tops | Convertible Roofs | Car Hood Warehouse

Picked it up in UK a few trips back along with a new headliner and complete set of hood cables ( 3 ) Had it shipped back with a pile of other parts on one of the regular container consignments.

You may need to replace the top pad as well, see how your unit is once the roof is peeled.

Was ok to fit but I have found the manufacturers of pretty well all the replacement hoods are pretty piss poor with fitting instructions.

Have a read of this if your DIYíng the top

I have a couple PDF files on top replacement if your needing them. Took us a few days to do the lot

    Good luck.

        Thanks roccodingo,
I did not read your reply but ordered a roof from them as they were cheaper including shipping than any of the Oz companies!
I have spoken to a few trimmers in Adelaide and they quote about $700 for fitting.
Looks like I will be keeping the Cab for a while after spending this money on it.

topsonline in america make great quality ones too. (I got mine from there and fitted it myself) - inc shipping it cost me $350 for the top and then I had to buy a pneumatic staple/nail gun aswell to fit it.

Bought brand new hood from south Wales UK last year. 125 GBP and got it fitted here for $450. The trimmer said it was a tough job but excellent value for money compared to here. Can't remember the name but they specialise in just convertible roofs. Google search would bring them up....

They were called B.A.S International by the way, just found their details in an old email. Top Quality hood, way better than any others I have seen elsewhere.
