  • Mine isn't 'properly sequential' as the clutch is still needed (can't afford the dog box kit), but should speed up the shifts only have to bump the shifter back and forward, though I'm sure there'll have to be some sort of delay in the linkage system...

The LCD will be awesome, though

It's a H pattern to sequential ratchet shifter adapter. Like the A game V8 supercars can run now.. Except this one obviously doesn't mount straight on to the top of the box..

Hey Valver, how much is that shifter worth? Can you get a dog set to replace the syncro's for a standard gearbox??

        • Sounds like it is a very similar kit to the Seqshift. As Preen mentioned, it converts the standard H shifting pattern to full sequential movement. Unless you have the dog kit installed (bloody expensive) you still need to press the clutch as in ‘normal’ shifting.

The one pictured above looks like a very subtle bit of kit You just need a big red shifter light to go with the LCD

That description pretty well sums it up There are quite a few Berg Cup cars running them. They're quite different to the CAE setup, which is like a VWM H-pattern shifter - though you needn't pull up the knob to access reverse (there's a collar like a Subaru 6spd instead, whereas the VWM version, and the phase one Stroeve one, need two hands).

I've tried for ages to get the Stroeve one, as it's the nicest looking, but the waiting list is too long.

The SQS one is around $2,300 with freight, duty and some of the accessories. My computer has flat shifting control, which is another reason I've gone sequential. The VWM shifter is very cheap from Bildon now, but I don't think it feels very nice to use, plus the tech support and availability of the linkages is very poor. Bildon are becoming increasingly rude and unhelpful to deal with too, so they've lost my business!

The SQS isn't cheap, but it opens the doorway to a proper driveline when money permits in the future. It's pretty ugly, though!!

P.S. You can get a lot of dog sets for the 02As (and some are quite cheap), but there's no way I'd want to buy one without trying one out first...

lol - yep. Half my family are Euro's, remember, which means I pay flights and the rest, bar car hire (and Mk1 parts!!), is free.

Happy to bring goodies back, but I have limited carrying space as economy baggage limits are crap

                    Cheap as..

Doesn't Quaife make a full sequential dog box? I'm imagine you'd have to be funded by a small militant group to pay for it though..

                    • Bloody hell……first a peloquin TBD and a used 02S, then a Gemini LSD and new ratios and now a SQS That’s some serious dough on the driveline

I'm going to palm off one of the diffs, but that won't recover much in the long term . I've already spent the money I'd saved for a new ECU (which I now don't need)... I am hopeless The car should be the ultimate, though - if it's not, I'm going to part it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sequential shifting aside, the Gemini LSD will be by far the best money spent with such power output, even if it is a bit of a bitch for road use Driving the Cyborg RS on the road was always a heap of fun

At around $15k, you might as well go for the Quaife sequential dog box if you're speaking of the 'ultimate'

I reckon you're right! If the money were there, it'd be straight out awesome, I'm sure

                              • What kind of LSD is the gemini one? Is it a clutch type? I would have thought the peloquin ATB would have been sufficient. Its one of the best additions to my car. On the road its great but on the track I just couldn't believe how much grip it provided when it sends the power to the outer front when all of the weight is on it.
