I did wonder about the cam timing. I've actually got a 9A intake cam, which might be worth dropping in, as the ABF one is fairly aggressive, as are my 260s, which would be even worse! I also have some Kent individual verniers, but haven't heard anything good about them!

The head is nicely ported for mid range, so the gas speed is quite good down low (this is another reason I didn't choose an equal length header, as they're too big-turbo oriented).

I may well be jumping the gun anyway, as there is a lot more work to be done on the maps. I'd like to see close to 15psi at 3000rpm, though, so I'll report back on whether or not that's only a dream!!! I will have the antilag setup by then, though

Well, I've already booked to go, and I'd really like to make it this year, as the car will be scratched and chipped to buggery next year (I do intend to use it )... It all depends on whether the ECU gets back in time. I've not even heard from them yet :s I Have an SM4 on standby, but that will mean redoing all my wiring

          • So you'll be there, running or not? goood. I'd prefer it running, but wouldn't we all.

Besides you car is nice and light. I'm sure we can push it...

(hopefully that's inspiration enough to get it running )

            • This is one of the most brilliant build ups i have ever seen, i bet it gives you a horn just hearing it spool up before the tires start spinning, franticly trying in vain to lay that power down! i cant wait to see it at the nats! What bottom end internals have you used? I am building a 2.0 litre 16v turbo set up aswell ..

              • Got my ECU back - had fried the mainboard good and proper apparently... Not very clever of me The crank output was non-existent due to very low voltage caused by a toasted regulator. Paid for a new mainboard so things are all good now.

Have no time for the car until October, though, so I'll keep it undercover until then... Better to have it sorted for dry weather anyway. Just ordered a basic set of Rota 15x7s and 195/50 semi-slicks, which will be on the car all the time, except for the few shows it'll actually make it to when I'll jazz it up a bit more.

Also ordered a very rare and nifty bit of driveline kit out of the Czech Republic, which I should get in a few weeks. I'll try and locate a teaser pic in the meantime

                            • Geez....these shifters are becoming pretty common additions to projects down this way Despite costing the earth, they're a must have for the motorsport look, though
