This guy sure knows how to take an awesome photo
Not too bad at building a nice looking Mk1, either

Jeez Stu.
This build is an absolute credit to you & your talent. I wish I had of popped in the last time I was in Tassie for a look. But I think I'll get my chance in the next few month's.
Be sure to let us know of the power/torque figure's & curve's. Hope my guesstimation was right. If it is, it's going to be all teeth & gum's every time you drive it.
What's happening with the blue one?

Though, I won't take credit for the engine bay layout - that was all designed by Matt Porter (a legend...obviously!).
I'm having hardware trouble at the moment - we suspect a broken circuit board in the computer (!), so I may have to replace the board... a new one is surprisingly cheap, but it means more time and delays.
The closer one gets to the finish line, the slower things seem to go~!

I'm so glad my car has no electronic engine controls..
Although, this car is a credit to your skill and knowledge.

Worked all day on the interior today, doing pretty mundane jobs I'd been putting off, like polishing seat mounts - exciting stuff... this is about the only bonus of delays with the ECU: I have more time to perfect the car. I know with the blue Mk1 I rushed at the finish line, and I don't intend to do that this time.
I'll get some pics on Good Friday, as I'm expecting more parts this week
P.S. Tim, the blue car is in the back of the garage - I started rubbing it back, but I might just have it blasted next year and start from scratch. I'd like to get it well under 700kg as the 1.6 will have no torque!

Hey i just thought of something..
I'm not a big fan of turbo's (yeah, yeah.. everyone feel free to bag me.. I just don't like the idea of putting your foot down and then making a cup of tea and eating a sandwich before the car gets up and moves..
)
But you should have called this thread Broom cha-cha-cha-cha Broom cha-cha-cha-cha.
Has the external gate got it's own dump? You should see if you can start grass fires with it...

Slowly - damaged the 5v supply in the computer after melting the crank sensor wiring on the dyno, and grounding the raw wires together (my own fault for not heat wrapping it).
Have had to send the VEMS back to Europe to get fixed and have new firmware uploaded, as I can't get the anti-lag to work either (and first impressions show very little below under 3300rpm, as expected, but then all hell breaks loose
)
