whoops, forgot to do an update.

a few weeks ago, finally got round to getting the car on the road!!!
      so far alls well
had a minor, but really annoying squeak in the left rear, turned out to be the wheel bolts sticking out a beez **** too long and rubbing on something inside the drum.

so other than blowing the odd globe and fuse, its been pretty successful so far.. good for a run around and heaps of fun to drive too

i do love how everyone seems to notice mk1's more than other cars (more than the mk2 anyway).
I had a Pom pull up to me at the lights, wind down his passenger window and tell me he's got 4 mk1's in the UK, and he hadn't seen one over here. things like this can't stop you from smiling

i'll get round to taking some proper camera photos, but for know, just phone ones.

Great work! That colour would have to be one of my favourites yet! Funny how everyone notices MK1's. Nearly everyone seems to have a story about a Mk1

                    Another little update...
Decided to just clean up a 32/36 dgav weber I had, 2 hours later (thanks to Elton) in the car and running great!
a little rich, but that crackle!!
the carb doesn't have a choke, so if anyone has some spare weber parts lying around, let me know
the car is still running the standard exhaust for now, I've got a full 2" system with extractors, almost ready to go in!!

                    • I never ran a choke dude, it's never really that cold in Aus. As Dan said to me, hold the idle for 25 seconds upon morning start up and you're sweet

                        • Any chance you remember the jetting you ran George, on your 32/36?
