  • Another MKI nut joins the Calvary

Howdy guys, didn't realise there were so many of us out there in Aust.

To cut to the chase MKI's are all i've ever driven so i've had many. At present I'm trying to get a 2 door 76 with a 2L ABF running. It's been a year but hope to finish around late feb.

I'm pretty supprised to see few of the guys on here taking on a 20V motor but that was only a matter of time i guess

    Just some pics for now.

I'm getting konis for my current black one this wkend but will still need for the springs from groudcontrol suspension in the US for thire sleeve kit.

Just wanted to ask as well have any of you guys taken your MKI's on to the track? wakefield or EC or 1/4mile?

There are lots of us into Mk1s but we were isolated until now. This forum is one perpetual swopmeet, everything you could want turns up on here sooner or later.

                      Welcome from the southern tip.
There's plenty of us Golf freaks down here.
Had lots of experience with track cars too.
I can usually point you in the right direction.

Heya guys, this is my current 4x4 MKI . Poor thing needs to be dumped and it's happening soon.

                          Not the best of shots.

the motor is pretty much all reassembled with all new seals and gaskets and ready to go

all the goodies should be going into it over the chrissy break.

heres a brief list of thing's to go in:

                          engine + gear box
                          wilwood brakes
koni yellows that i just picked up last wk
still have to order some custom springs
                          brake booster
                          wolf ecu

I'll probably only get 20% of it done .
