now............. what to do with myself and the wabit????
rolled mine to save any cuts on the precious rubberness, just went at it hammer style and ended up ok.
im planning on flaring the guards when it gets resprayed so i wasnt too concerned tho lol. however if i wanted to do it real nice like, id prolly chuck somethin on the inside for the lip to wrap round a lil an use a softer headed mallet. but myeh.
I use to use a 3.5" round aluminium poll with a thick sidewall.
If the car is low enough, wedge it in between the guard & tyre then get some one to hold it in the guard & drive forward & back very slowly & the poll will start to roll (Don't try & stop it. It's doing it's job!) across the surfaces.
You will have to go back & forward's a couple of time's & can give you a professional smooth effect without taking to it with a hammer.
Done this many a time's on different model's of car's & if done slow & carfully enough, you can do it with cracking the paint suprisingly!
Hey from one mk1 cabrio driver to another, good work!
I'm busy doing a similar project over here in England and its good to see someone else doing up a cabrio and not going down the usual Karman bodykit style route. Fat low mk1 cabrios rock!
cheers mate..... love the signature pic... more info on yourt cabby mate??
BTW welcome to the website mate
wabit
Cheers buddy.
I might have to start a project thread to see what you guys think. I'm loving the subtle variations in modding you guys have in Australia. Top work to all, as i know the cars aren't in the abundance that they are over here, only goes to show your dedication. Altho if the weather was a bit better over here i might be more encouraged to get on and finish mine!

wow awesome car mate, those guards dont look standard to me tho... interesting to see how you did them AND I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THE CLASSICS!!!!.....
on another note: i may have some use for the zender cooling caps
test fitted them for laughs and they need a few moments and glances to get used to but after that they look fine obviously not compatable with the RS's they do poke a few MM wider than when having them on the zender wheels but looks ok still
after taking a lil trip with carl and dave to tims house geelong way, it was nice to have a chat with tim. (the burnout video's were awesome and got me G'd up)
anyways, just because tim is sooo nice he was curtious enough to give me a nice and very delicious easter pressie!!!
