  • QLD Mk1 meet June 2 Round up

    Hey guys.

With bad weather looming it managed to stay sunny for the mk1 meet yesterday, which was a big success. 11 mk1 owners turned out for the workshop clinic meet organized by Craig Huges from VWMA and Chris McGaughey at Browns plains mechanical, big thank you to those guys for supporting our scene Also the cook of the day Clive from FLI Images keeping everyone fed . The range of cars was awesome to see all very different but very cool, also was great to catch up with other mk1 owners and chat the afternoon away. The meet ended up lasting close to 4 hours in the end.

This meet would have to be one of the biggest mk1 meets to hit Aus with 11 mk1s in one place was great to see, even the traffic passing by dropped in for a look and chat . Its a great concept and be great to keep it going please support your scene when the events hit your state.

If anyone has pictures post them up

For info on up coming events please register your email with Craig from VWMA editor@vwma.net.au

That Mk1 drag car looks insane too, what sort of motor is going to be hiding inside that frame?

Thanks again to those who organised. Top effort Craig, Andrew and Chris from Browns Plains Mechanical! It was awesome to meet some mk1 owners and a few peeps from the forum.

There was even a random fella who was just getting petrol but happens to have a mk1 track car in the pipeline - he couldn't believe his luck!

Definitely the most mk1s i've seen in the one place at the same time ever! Looking forward to the next one.

I think it's yet to be announced when we'll next be meeting gotrice. stay tuned!
