            okay cool thanks guys

            this car hasnt been driven in a year or so

            apart from the battery I plan to;
            syphon out the fuel
            change the oil
            change the spark plugs

            before I get it running

            any other thoughts?

              check the gearbox oil level if you plan on taking it for an extended drive.

                Change the fuel injection filter as well, ( next to the metering head)

                I would even bridge the fuel pump relay and pump some of the old fuel in the lines out to a waste bucket untill you get the new fuel flowing before refitting a new fuel filter. Kjet + old stale & dirty fuel = expensive repairs to get it running optimumly.

                If there's a lot of rust and crud coming thru chances are you may end up doing a pump as there is only a small screen on the lift pump ( if yours is a later model ) and pretty well bugger all on the early pump suction lines to filter the crud out.

                HTH.
