  • Coil overs!

Hii thinking about some coil overs for the mk1. Can't find anythingin oz for less than $1000 but found these on eBay COIL OVER COILOVER VW GOLF MK1 ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION | eBay.
I can get them delivered all up it'll cost $480. Just wondering if anyone's done the same and if there any good! Cheers

$480 DELIVERED and you are wondering if they are any good? If you want something proper I would look somewhere else. then again, if you're 18yo and just wanna go low...grab them

Ha I think I answered my own question with the price! I don't want it on it's arse I was thinking 40mm and just trying to stiffen it up a bit! They look ok for now as I don't think I'll have car longer than a year! When my visa runs out and I get deported back to sunny England ha!

If you're only here for a year you might as well just chop springs...bahahahaha

Have you got any pics of your golf? Just buy some lowering springs if you don't wanna pay full price for good coil overs! Easy to do and when you come to sell can put back to original for better sale!

Cheap coilovers are simply nasty. If you can't afford decent coils go springs - or simply save up.

I don't see a problem with cheap adjusties other then them being stiff when slammed.
I've run hottunings in my mk1 and mk2, heeps better than lowering springs and heeps easier to clear defects.
People will tell you they are uncomfortble but so is every lowered mk1 and they will tell you they dont handle well becuase they are all pro race car drivers.

Cheers for the advise! I know I May not be here long enough to justify double the amount and I'm not sure If there going to make the ride twice as good at 60mm drop!
I'll get some pics up after the weekend when I have her cleaned up a little!
Also got a whining noise went revving engine. The cam belt looks like it was catching on the cover at one point as it is slightly worn but I can't see where. I take it there's a bearing were the top cam shaft runs through the head? Possible that could be making a noise? It's bugging me as there is wear on the cam belt on the top surface and don't want that bugger snapping! Thanks peeps!
P.s I'll be grafting on it this Saturday in north Melbs if anyone is bored!!

Try veedubmachine in the UK think they do JOM coilovers for $400 shipped. Had them on my VR6 and they were quite comfy. The Hottuning's on my mk1 is a little bit more harsh though.
