Anybody know what this old loom used to go to in the engine bay?
car is a 76 LS, the plug was never attached to anything even when the old solex was in the car
one of the two black wires going to the plug has power to it i'm hoping I can cheat and use this to power a coil for elec ignition

Certainly looks like the idle shut of solenoid and auto choke wire Dan, the earth eyelet attaches to one of the screws on the top of the carb ( solex)

could be right there mate, from memory the one that was connected on the solex just ran straight off from the coil, perhaps somebody changed it in the past and left this one a danglin'
