Near Brisbane? Anyone know anyone who will be able to do this? or maybe who might have some gear and be willing to share for a carton of piss? Had a look on the net but only found a load of industrial companies who only accept big jobs, tried emailing a few of them but none of them got back to me. pants.

I wouldn't use the brake fluid for that.

For the big areas there are the paint strippers and good old fashion orbital sander does a good job on them. The smaller areas that aren't that easy to sand, I would attack them with the hand held sand blaster.

Cheers I'll check them out. I'll probably end up doing it myself. What's the point in having a mk1 if you don't at least try and do it yourself? Might as well be a new car!

The sand blasting sand @ Supercheap is far to fine to strip paint (unless its flaking off).
I ended up doing what Stan did and attacked it with a grinder.

Ahhh ok cool. Time to start shopping for an angle grinder. I'm only prepping a set of wheels. I've done it before but last time I did it with sandpaper by hand!! Took a week!

It all depend on the surface that you want to prepare, you'll need different combination of tools, angle grinder, orbital sander, hand sanding, or even Dremel, they all work to certain degree. Sandblaster is best for tricky area.
