The shame about it is if he'she had have used it more, he/she probably would have experienced more than 10K Pounds worth of joy out of using it. I really don't see the point in buying a nice car and not using it much. It's not like it's a Million Pound car or a car that is fragile.

            Mate.

            Look at the big picture.

It's a VW Golf & that's all they'll ever be out here. Very few people know what they are & go un-noticed. I know I've driven mine around a heap now & have never had anyone come up say "GTI, you never see these around"
I've had one bloke say "that look's like a cheap clean little run about"

So there really not going to go up bugger all.
The price out here is high because most people are just trying & recover the shipping, tax, duty, engineer's & reg, cost.
Just say you brought a GTI for 2K pound's over the net., brought it out here (then it turn's out t be a rust bucket!) & reg. it.
Add in the mod's you'd have to incl. engineer's & you would be lucky to get any change out of $12K incl. everything. Shipping, tax, duty etc.

Would you sell it for $3K to make them affordable for young people?

I'd like to know what mine would be worth.

Answer. As much as I'd ask & only as much as someone would realistically pay for it & I've had an offer of $15K. Even then I wouldn't be making any money due to the expenses. But I'm never going to sell it, cause it would be very hard to find another original unrestored example like it.

But, maybe one day I'll send mine back as you'll alway's get more for unrestored version's.

            Who know's.
