Is anyone able to tell me what model this distributor is from?
I bought it with a bunch of parts with the intention of using it for an electronic ignition setup, but the rotor is different to what I've come across before. the usual cap seems to fit on it just curious as to what it's from?

    cheers

I am thinking MK1 GTI DX engine or something that had a JJ engine. I can't find it in ETKA but the rev limited rotor arm make me think GTI.

We used to chuck the rotors away as they were loads more expensive than a non-limited one which worked just as well. If it fits in the block and you have a plug that goes onto it, I'd use it.

Its a rev limiting rotor, Same rotor as in my 80 EG engine. have the part number for it somewhere.

Your dizzy looks to be a 1.8 version looking at the wiring plug ( rectangular instead of rounded..)
          Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

          Cheers,

according to the part number it's limited at 5400, as far as I can see there won't be a problem replacing it with a 7000 limited rotor?

Porsche Distributor Rotor Rev Limited - 7000 Rpm: Engine Electrical &amp Ignition and Related Parts

unfortunately the non limited rotor has a different fitting.

No problems at all. You become the rev limiter then.
