  • Engine mounts. oem vs red polyurethane

Does anyone know where I could get hold of some engine mounts for a 1600 petrol made of the same compound as the oem mounts? I was looking at just buying a whole kit of the red polyurethurane (?) mounts but I wasnt to sure if theyd be too stiff for the car, which is relavely stock asides from carbs/exhaust/extractors..
If the amount of vibrations isnt too much more. Would I be better off with the poly ones?
    Any information would be good.
    Thanks guys!

You could just buy OEM mounts. They're not hard to get.

Tooleys imports can ship them to you.

Overseas options include German Auto Parts who stock several options.

Don't install the rear/lower urethane gearbox mount in a street car it'll drive you mad from the noise.

Even Repco should be able to order in the stock mounts for you.

        Thanks!
I had a look on a few sites like GAP, ECS, VWHeritage etc but I could only find either one or two of the OEM mounts? Might not have been looking hard enough though.. It was 2am haha. The rest I could find where the urethane ones. Didn't figure it a good idea to mix them..
        Cheers guys!

          that kit is good,

but you might need to replace the metal mount on the drivers side if you still have the small bush.. Just track down a Diesel mount or a GTi mount off ebay.
