Ok so the Mk one is back afterbeing at the mechanics for a few months. Had the following done.
Diesel engine mount and carry plate
timming belt, idler, new pully bolts, retuned, belt cover, new gear linkages and bushes and lower stress bar.
Drive shaft gaiters replaced and mechanically running good.
Waiting on a set of twin dellortos to service and fit, looking for a manifold if possible (anyone have one)????
Have stripped the car externally, all trim, door seals and rubber, carpets out for a clean and re spray in black. Roof lining out, door cards out, middle concole out, dash and windows to come out and re fit with new rubber and repair any patches.
Floor has a minor amount of rust to repair but nothing major.
Suspension ok (Spax adjustable and koni lowering springs, brakes ok (fitted twin ventilated disc from GTI) possible looking for some braided hoses if anyone has any??
Better bonnet to go on as mine is pretty bad.
Rear wheel arches need minor works. Front Wheel arch both side beside the driver and passenger doors minor and thats all.
Passenger footwell needs a bit of work but nothing major.
Jobs to be undertaken
1) Clean out interior floor degrease and repair rust in passenger footwell, any pointers on good degreaser
2) Repair rust on panels and prime
3) Repair dents in passenger side and prepare for respray
4) Remove dash and install new one
5) Re install centre console
6) Purchase new seat belts
7) Install re sprayed carpet and sound deadening material
Install new door cards
9) Install new roof lining
10) Reinstall re up holstered seats

All parts in the garage for a christmas playing with the golf. Anyone got a manifold for dellortos??
