  • Transmission linkage bush repair kit / oil seals?

Just sorting out some things to roadworthy Rosanna (dom123's old girl) up in Queensland. Looking to order a transmission linkage bush repair kit and also the transmission end oil seals (as one is cracked, and unfortunately leaking).

Found them online through GSF (UK Based), part numbers are 711VG0070 (transmission repair kit) and 450VG0320 (transmission end oil seals).

For the parts it's 26 GBP, but shipping is an extraordinary 50 GBP - so I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of an Australian supplier?

Found this kit on eBay, GEAR SHIFT REPAIR KIT NEW FOR 5 SPEED GOLF MK1 CADDY SCIROCCO | eBay.

There seems to be a couple of mentions of it on various forums, so it may just be the right one.

Does anyone have any idea about the oil seals? Even if something can be retrofitted?

Brian @ GTI Imports here in Galston, Sydney. Ph: 9653 1114

The tranmission end oil seal/rear crank seal is $AU 30 and most likey post/shipping to QLD could be no more than $10 (he ships interstate yes)

Also, from the 5-speed conversion was done at Camden GTI and I know he sells the bushing kits, from memory about $50. Again, shipping won't be too much.

          Hope that helps.

          Michael.

Is the car OG 4-speed? I have a brand new set of bushes, yours for $20 posted. It's a basic kit but will fix up major slop.

Thanks for the information dubmc, didn't even think to get in touch with Camden GTI about it.

Thank you for the offer Jace, but it's a 5 speed..

The bits in the bag are the same for 4 or five speed linkages.

What's different is the length of the rods with the ball socket ends on them.
