I would like to know the drag co-efficient and frontal area of my Mk2 GTI. Does anyone know these figures or know where I can find out?

    Drag

I don't know but it would be similar to an over sized brick.
VW put quite a bit of effort into the mk1 originally and the angle of the windscreen was very important,so I suppose they carried over a bit of that into the mk2.They were one of the first to get rid of the rain gutters which would have helped immensely.

Golfwise, you mean to say the eaves and gutters on the roof of my car are slowing me down?

What is the best grinding wheel to use

They look funny and rounded if you grind the lips off.

My mate did it with a mini, you have to grind a few inches off, weld up the seam and repeat untill there are no seams or gutters left. Then smooth and repaint.

Should improve the drag coefficient very slightly though!

It would look ok, but I would not do it.

Yes my car is a daily driver, but I have not raced it yet. though I think Golfwise has?
