coil wiring ?????????? mk1

hi guys and girls my baby has been stood a long time but i fire her up every now and then. been of work for a while and come back and some1 has had my coil off messing around on another car. now she wont start have tried swopping my wires around on the coil get a spark but have lost my ignition lights on my dash. i have 3 wires to my coil white wire being a switching power from ignition a red/black wire and a black wire these are the 2 am unsure where they go i think these 2 wires are related to the rev counter but why have i lost my dash lights.
also after a set of rear brake shoes and a rear wheel cylinder to get my baby back on the road.
and if anyones good with tuning a set of dellortos or knows of anywhere that is around the brisbane area please let me know would be good to get her purrrring again

I am pretty sure that the ignition and the black/red will be to the + side and the solid black to the - side of the coil based on your descriptions.

put a new battery on her and she fired up a treat old battery was getting a tad tired the new one spins her over sweet. took her for a spin round the block still put a smile on my dial.
