  • The project is done.

Five weeks in the making, from start to finish. "'79 Golf GLD Turbo Diesel" The car started out as a '79 Diesel junkyard find in Southern California. It was posted on the Vortex for sale a while back,
and I had it shipped to our door a little while later. Here is what it looked like when we got it, and what it looked like for a few months sitting in our driveway until
it was ready for paint. Before I even had it painted I bought ALL of the parts that I needed for it to make it "mine," which is why it didn't take that long to finish it, but there are a ton of blood, sweat, and tears in the car. I have approximately 200 hours in it.

The car has 43,xxx original miles. Paint was supposed to be Canyon Metallic, but was resprayed a couple of times in the past. I don't feel like typing much more, I'll just let the pictures do the talking.

I did keep the original interior, just cleaned it up and put a new dash in it. I put a 3-spoke steering wheel out of a Scirocco in it though.

People are not very happy about it. Detroit has lost alot of big business related to the autombile industry. Our governor kinda sucks.

Thanks for the props on the car. Lots of hours after work and weekends.
Thanks go out to Tim(Golfworx) for my hatch badges.

Glad to help out anytime Big D!

I've said it before & I'll say it again.

Top effort, & prop's go out to the better half for her major involvement in the project.

                      Car look awesome. Period.

I've also got to say that when starting a project, it makes a hell of alot of difference when you have all the part's ot your disposal. It make's the project come along that much faster.
