30 year old car and with untold miles still left in her.
That's right the cars going had it round the block a few times last few days and i'm
It's great to be back in the green machine and with that sweet note that was worth the wait, the rapid acceleration off the line 1st & 2nd it's one  little machine, off the power sounds very innocccent push the pedal 10mm your zipping quick squeeze the pedal and your off.
Dyno with any luck in a few weeks and will try and post the video.
Then down to a test and tune at willowbank or qld raceway and see what i can squeeze out of her.
And once again thanks Matt for supp assoc bits.
Dave's car is a real credit to his skills.
Went for a drive in his 16v & it is a real little screamer.
He has it running like a dream & is the best running 16v i have seen for a while.
All he needs is to install a 5 speed GTI box to get rid of his wheel spin & torque steer.

Dave, How much of the airbox did you have to chop up to get it under the bonnet. It looks like i have to chop most of the box away (probably just enough to carry th air filter) it look like there is no other real option.

Or use an early type airbox.

The whole bottom is cut out except for a little flat section that's closest to the driver and yes you can use an early type bottom box wich i think mine is, the hole cut out gives it a good note when on the throttle and better air flow or should i say no restriction on the flow, leave a stip of plastic across the bottom so it maintains a bit of strength an so you can secure it in place.

Oh ! got the 16v reg'd today, time is about 12:30 am just got home from up the road from which a procession of jap jobs, i think i counted about 15 cars followed me to my local shop park, it went from empty to half full all wanting to see what was in the car they thought they'd blow away you should have seen their faces three lanes i felt like i was ambushed by pssst cars, oh no the lights went red, then green. 16 cars all hammering and guess who stands out. The little old green car that's got a bad temper i had about 25 sets of eyes watching and were all blown away how it just came to life. any how got killed by this honda that sounded just like mine so will have to chase a cam to take it up to the KR spec well at least to start with.
Cheers Dave
ps. now a very happy man
Go the MK1 16v and all conversions in the mill you will be happy.
quick list would be king springs, koni adj ride, mk2 dash, the mags you can see B R green is the colour, cabrio grill ,mk2 bumber and all the bits like diesel fuel lines, tank for the k-jet setup, obvious 16v in the photo, engine oil cooler mounted as the last motor being an ev gti, and as i'am a Loon as well, engine oil temps ran a little hot, thus the cooler this time.
bottom control arm brace as u would all know crackswill appear in the body and this will help with that as well as turn in stiffness into corners.
oh mk2 gti stoppers that were new out of the box, diesel rear drums. actually i think i've just covered most of the car.So not many compared with some and it's a dream to drive.
