  • And 1 makes 4

Yeah I know I needed another Mk1 so I went and got one. The tally so far is a blue 4 door and a red 4 door but these will be replaced by my last 2 buys, a yellow 2 door swallowtail which I think I posted about, followed a couple of days ago by a white '77 GLS 2 door. The white one has a brilliant interior in dark blue and has been fully prepped for repainting (whenever summer arrives....it's snowing at sea level here today) It's still in glorious 4wd mode so I'll be able to put the towbar on. I may be persuaded to lower it an inch or two but this one I mean to be useable for all the domestics. I'll get Toff to bring the camera down so I can post a pic or 2 in the next day or so. Tassie is a great place to live but it's not ideal for outside working especially when you're an old bastard like me.

Is the white on Mike's old car? If so that is the best original interior you could likely lay your hands on. Good work

I got the white one from Alastair, the same bloke I got the yellow one from. He bought it and immediately called me to offer 1st chance at it for the same as he paid. I think he said it came from Tranmere so if that's where Mike lives you could be right.
I thought you were a 2 door man now Josh.

Yeah that'd be Mike's old one. Bit of a write up on it's history on oz edition from memory. I think a Tas get together may soon be in order..

Well if Toff has 4, maybe his place is the best venue!

Haha If you could see the parking situation here. As well as the Golfs there's also my Nissan 4wd and my daughters '76 Corolla as well as a trailer. As soon as I can get around to it the 2 4 doors will be moved on. Then I'll have S P A C E.
