  • 3/78 Drivers side door dropped - how to fix/ raise the door with older style hinges??

My drivers door has dropped at the bottom rear towards the rear door, so there is a bigger gap at the bottom of the door compared to the top when closed - it just scrapes the front guard too. It seems that the bottom door hinge has moved forward causing the door to drop at the rear. It needs more force to be closed shut

I have the older type door hinges as it is a 3rd month 78 model. Any ideas how to raise the door or straighten the door hinge and pull it back into the correct position therefore raising the rear of the door again?

have 78 3-door with the same hinge set-up...can take a bit of stuffing around

the way i did it was to use a jack with a block of wood on it. i simply loosened off the hinge bolts and jacked up the back of the door (slowly of course) where it was sagging just a little bit and then tightened the bolts all back up...

shut the door see how it looks and make final adjustments if u need.
