Everybody secretly loves a slightly ratty MK1
You've done well with a polisher (I hope) to bring it back to that.

cut polish for older paints without clearcoat.
Was done by hand, could probably be better with a electric polisher, but i doubt its worth the effort to be honest.

Looks better slightly ratty and tatty, gotta buy some clips for the waist trim, get them painted black and put back on

        Engine nearly there,
ever gasket replaced even the head gasket.
Not going for a show and shine award, aslong as i can see where/if a leak comes from i can track it.

Waiting For my bro to come up from down south and drop off the engines and gearbox i scored, just some 1.6l's, but has what i need to finish this engine and get it in and running

Random pic from my laundry, Was feeding the cats and couldnt resist a snap

          ohh hello there!!

          ---------- Post added 17-11-2011 at 04:58 PM ---------- Previous post was 15-11-2011 at 11:05 AM ----------

          started adding small bits on,

Got the exhaust mounted up, just waiting on the new rubbers to arrive.
Need to get a broken stud out of manifold and put new one in. Anyone know where to get the gasket that goes between the top and bottom section of the manifold?

Got some fuel lines going, always hated how untidy it looks with the pump at front and carb are back. and i dont want to go electric, so i used some metal lines and made something neater, not the best and wont win any awards, but function over form here. Looks close to timing belt, but its not, and its solid, its not moving anywhere

got the coolant lines done, Filled up with water to test for leaks, no drips yet, will have to wait till its under pressure.

just waiting on a suitable filter to mount on the side there, and then bend lines to suit thinking a shiny metal one haha

not a whole lot done, have been tinkering with another car, and moving house next week... soooo

But did manage to find a set of but ugly rims, and a Mk2 dash shell that i modded to fit the mk1.
Car has no wiring, so planing on a mk2 wiring swap, newer fusebox ect ect.

Tight Fit though, had to shave some padding off the sides. is all nice and snug, and looks "ghetto" enough to match the car

I prefer the mk2 dash to the mk1 definately !! Do you have all the little switches and cluster etc for it though? That might be an issue sourcing it out. Oh and thats strange, as my dash fit in fine, without anytihng being cut or or shaved?

serious? hmmm maybe i got a different dash,

And nah i got no switches or anything
The dash is in poor condition to start with, which is why i didnt mind having to shave some off the sides.

Its there, so if i use it i use it, if not then ill store it away till i source everything for it
