Got to run here around the block today
Few issues, mainly tuning the 32/36 weber. anyone have any insight on these?
Issues are.
1) hesistation off idle, wont rev much, didnt try to get into secondairies.
2) lack of power.
3) Mixture screw has no effect when turned, lead to belive i have got the idle screw too far in so its opened up the progression port... which makes an changes to the mixture screw void.
4) Noticed the Top gasket ont he carby is wet, no drenched or leaking.. just wet.
The carb has had a rebuild kit, new needle and seat ect. All been cleaned properly. and everything is either new or cleaned.
5) im running a Carter rotary pump 4070 i think it is. says 6psi at 70gph... is this too much for the weber and do i need a FPR
Just want to do things properly
Other then that, it drives lol
Forgot to add,
If i pump the brakes while idle, the revs will go from say 900 up to 1300 intill i stop pumping, but the booster check, checks out fine, rock hard pedal when car off, and pedal goes down softly when i turn car on,... so... hrmmLast edited by GRN_VAGN; 21-05-2011, 03:02 PM.<space for rent>

At least she drives bro lol. I know that webers dont like too much fuel pressure. With my twins I dont need an aftermarket pump. Or with my old mk1 which had a 32/36. Mind you they are both 1.6 engines and not the 1.8L. Sorry mate not much help haha. Been a while since I played with a 32/36...2000 SAAB 9-5 Aero - Stage 2. 275hp 420Nm, Brew City Boost

Think i might get a Pressure Regulator to be safe. i do have a return line so surely the excess fuel will return to tank before blowing past the needle and seat in the carby<space for rent>

yeah thats what i thought Benny,
Had more tinker time yesty morning and i just getting nowhere. Super rich right over rev range. will free rev fine but any load kills it.
Im still leaning towards the Carter rotary 4070 pump is too much, i do have a return line and a new needle and seat so i highly doubt its passing the carb. will lower float level today and see what i get. process of elimination i guess<space for rent>

I wouldn't be surprised if the pump was too much, PJ is running twin side drafts after all..
I had a 32/36 and it was fine on the standard fuel pump, still managed to get it to run rich!
