  • My new project... (many pics)

Since my white vr6 is on hold and im waiting for the engine to come for my black vr6 Seb has given me another project ...

Ok so basically i have a 1983 South African Golf mk1 it has some 160k km on it. It was given to u scause it was taking up space in someones yard. Previously tried to sell it no one wanted it, tried to give it away and no one wanted it so it was bound for the scrapheap until this challenge came up and Seb though would be a good way to resurect it one last time! so we have 4 months to turn this heap into a 13second drag car on a $1300 budget

The plan is to basically fit a ko4 I have here off a transit van (it leaks a little bit of oil thats why it was changed but perfect for this challenge) and then run a small intercooler off a mk4 gti (plenty laying around if anyone wants one) and do a blo through carby set up. Power wont be huge, I think I'll be lucky to make 200 ponies. This car is going to be more about weight loss. So it seems i have alot of stripping down to do ... im referring to the car!

If anyone has any tips or suggestions im happy to hear them...

and heres some happy snaps too

    and after a few hours...

Nice. I hope it works out for you.

Curious to see your blow through turbo design too. Mine sucked so bad that I'd never go there again haha.

I'd be stoked if it came in under budget.

the car was scrap so the cost is $80
i also need new rims as these ones are pretty heavy
Sebs yet to take a good look at the engine so we have to wait and see with that
