yep thats the look i'm after too, thinking of mainly getting steel for the brackets but myself and Peter may want to look at aluminium as every gram removed counts on the track

Try getting them wire cut. Possibly cheaper if you get them from the right toolmaker.. You can stack 6 or so plates together and cut them in the one hit.Originally posted by roccodingo View PostIf you wanna do Ally I would mill them from 6061 T6 plate for some thickness and strength.

Not sure that alloy ones would be worth the investment.
I'm having trouble picturing how you'd mill them anyway.
If I were to be focusing that hard on the bracket I'd want to be looking at a different bearing setup altogether and fabricating the arms from scratch.
I do like milled alloy parts though
A re-design of the mount might help, I don't see why the sway bay bush has to be central to the bracket, it could be offset to either side and still function the same.79 MK1 Golf Wreck to Race / 79 MK1 Golf The Red Thread / 76 MK1 Golf Kamei Race Car

Hey guys, im a bit curious whether the brackets/bushes were ever made?
How much did it cost you to make them up.
Thanks

Looking into metal stamping the sections that are welded to the original rear A arm pivot, this way I can do it as an exchange item ( send your old brackets back )
Mill is currently having the tech guy look at a few issues.Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...
If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

Bump for some new info.
Autotech seem to be stocking a few of the bits and pieces now.
Autotech Sport Tuning: Swaybars
including the ping dammit clip, a bargain at only $4

The rear bar brackets

The rusty clamp that snaps and has seized bolts which twist off as they mangle the saddle section to the point of snapping.

They've got all the bushes in urethane too.
No idea on the other bits , although they do seem to be included with their kits.

mik don't those whiteline ones require you to drill the floor of the car? Metal stamping will commence this week at the tool makers. I will be making at least 10 sets right now and prices will be cost plus a beer77 Golf tarmac rally

Yep, need to drill up through the channels in the floor and a hole in the front arms too.
I owe you some photos on how it's done Mik.79 MK1 Golf Wreck to Race / 79 MK1 Golf The Red Thread / 76 MK1 Golf Kamei Race Car

You don't owe me anything Pete, but when you get time I'd be appreciative. If it means me only drilling into the car once then I'll be stoked.Originally posted by Peter Jones View PostYep, need to drill up through the channels in the floor and a hole in the front arms too.
