Yep, and stuffed strut mounts, missing rain tray and seal, looks like it missed out on the anti run on retrofit too.Originally posted by hitoriko View PostSerious? i didnt even know! HAHAHA
Needs a battery of course but it all looks pretty complete.

or take a look at our daily GLD http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f55/...ead-29779.html

I had another GLD too, that's gone off the Geoff Hale to be a spare shell for his rally car.

Nice find mate. Please keep it diesel!
If its got 141,000 original km, you can likely expect the engine to be in good nick, at least in theory. Change the oil regularly, and use a nice Penrite diesel one, like HPR20 or even HPR15 in the colder months. Change the timing belt. Get yourself the camshaft locking tool and the injector pump sprocket locking tool.
Watch for fuel leaks around the top of the pump, particularly from the throttle lever area, but on low km it doesnt seem likely. If you dont have enough power, read up in the diesels section, there are a few things you can do to the n.a diesel to make it a bit quicker than stock.
A new set of glow plugs is usually in order if its hard to start, and beware the almost obligatory GLD wiring mess, where a PO has blessed the car with all their wisdom and made a big mess of things.... (sigh).
Best of luck with it!'07 Touareg V6 TDI with air suspension

Spoke to the seller just now - what a top bloke
according to him the interior is just dusty but is mint besides the dash - " its been sitting in a garage since 2004" so that sounds good to me and since he is driving it about 6hrs from his place into VIC im sure it will be in great condition
can't wait to get my hands on some more $$$ and get this thing as my daily/project

Cheers DanOriginally posted by hitoriko View PostSpoke to the seller just now - what a top bloke
Sum info about the(your) GLD that i find cool.
Purchased- 7/2/80 from W.D. Oconnel Auto Co. Kendal st Cowra
for the amount of $12007.25 drive away incl air con($775.00) and radio with door pockets($120.00), Have original reciept of purchase.
When i picked it up i drained fuel tank, put fresh diesel in and drove it to ACT from Young(1.5hrs) was slow but i couldnt stop smilin about what i had just purchased.
IMO it needs to be slammed on coilovers and cruised.
And i have a battery.
Talk to you soonLast edited by Deano; 09-11-2010, 07:37 PM.
