more probably the lower you go, the more you hit the bump stops!

cheapies are hottuning (including raceland, etc) and JOM. there are only two, then you have some better quality ones, like wietec (ST) and FK. They'll all go pretty low. and probably all ride the same if you just 'dump' them.

but if you're going for some 'stance' and a 'good' ride. man up and spend something that's closer to the $1K mark.

Well, yeah. Racelands (same **** rebranded, fyi)

From what I've done the lower they are the better they ride. When I put them in (before RWC) i cranked them up as high as I could, which made the helpers bind up and made them solid as a rock.

Rears are as low as can be without removing helper/cutting bumps stops, front have 40mm-ish of thread left. Low enough to crack a sump.

Shipping from the US is around $250 for coilovers. Multiple quotes confirmed that.

Any reason for the new Coilovers? or just after a better ride?

            Yeah. Actually want some comfort.
My back is kinda ****ty (but whose isn't, right?) and after my longish drive the other day my back was the only sore bit of my body.

Spring rates are a fair bit softer in the new coilovers. Hoping there's at least a little bit of R&D into them haha.

Nice, looks like you've been onto that AMI deal? also going for a set of these have heard nothing but good things about them.
If anyone else is serious about a set let me know as the more ordered the cheaper the shipping costs

Correct. I dealth with Glen, he simply priced them as $699, rather than $799 + cashback.
That deal finished 1/11, I believe... So they're $799. Hell, you might be able to get them for $1000 shipped.
Compared to $1700+ for KW V1's locally, i'm stoked on it.
Shipping time estimate is only a single week too!

High-5 to everyone wanting better coilovers and actually getting them!

Glen is very helpful, this deal did finish on the first, he has given me an extra week to purchase the coils at sale price, and will reduce shipping prices accordingly if more than one order is placed.

for those interested, here is a thread with a few opinions

ive ran avo's,hot-tunings,JOM,FK highsport and FK highsport silverlines. Have yet to try the FK konigsport silverlines but out the first four id rate them pretty much as I wrote them. The AVO(chassis dynamics) turned up with what I thought was a protective coating...turns out the top seals were already away before they'd even been on the car got them reconned and they went again within 3k,the next three sets, despite maintainance and semi regular height alterations all seized within 6 months although provided cheap lowness and(except the FK's)a pretty poor ride with indifferent handling. The fk highsports rode good but still seized sooner rather than later but retained their ride quality albeit at a fixed height. The FK highsport silverlines are three years old, still easily adjusted and run low with pretty good handling characteristics if you chop the bumpstops down, ditch the helpers and wind the platforms right up. All in im pretty looking forward to the konigsport silvers which the(H&R)dealer described as 'as close as youll get to the old H&R nur spec's'plus you save @700gbp over the equiv adj H&R's which was what I was after but are discontinued

I was also interested in ST but ended up buying Weitec, both of them (ST and Weitec) are manufactured by KW, I suspect they are the same coilover just with different brand.

Only physical difference between KW V1's and ST's is that the ST bodies are galv., not stainless.
Does Weitec have a V1 equivalent like that?

H&R Ultra Lows are like $3,625+shipping if anybody's feeling wealthy....

I thought ultra lows were like 1400US + ship..???

Pretty sure weitec do (or used to atleast) have a V1 equivelent. This was meant to have been manufactured by KW, just with different bodies. (which isn't of great impact on us, given we don't salt our roads!)

****! I only got a quote off a local distributor. I thought $4k was a little on the farfetched side of the price range!
