  • Where to buy wheel cylinders?

    Hi Mk1ers,

    In order to please vicroads, I need new wheel cylinders for my Mk1 gls. I found some on ebay but the seller won't reply to my questions to I cannot purchase them..

    Where is another place to look?

    Any help appreciated

    all the usual places will have them, Volkspower, HSY etc. I'm sure golf loon would probably have some, and probably post them out to you too!

        mate, contact Andrew Robison, I'd recommend him as your first port of call any time you needed some VW spares! he's down in hobart. (IIRC)

          HSY sell the German OEM cylinders, or give the guys at Volkspower a go. Is it because they are leaking?

            I am yet to pull the rear wheels/drums off, however the pedal sits halfway down, the car rolls, but when I go to take off it stalls going forward, going backwards I have to ride the clutch big time to get it to move... suspect the cylinders are seized or shoes rusted to drum. About to find out next bit of private time I get... Have asked Volkspower to supply, but thanks for mentioning Andrew, I will shoot him all future enquiries, since he is 2 hours away... (I forgot?) Handbrake works in the sense the car won't move at all with it on... Something is grabbing when I go to take off... Brakes have always been on the list anyhow...

              Got mine within two days of my order, from Volkspower.. Thanks Rick! German made, now to fit them.... Cheap too.... local VW dealer quoted me twice the price and they were from Singapore....

                Thanks for the plug Jarred, yes, I have a lot of VW stock here, only a couple on this forum support the locals.
