hey guys im looking at buying a new drivers side engine mount. but the only ones i can find are just the round ring and not the whole mount and bracket that attaches to the engine. does anybody know how to fit them or if there is any welding or cutting invloved in fitting a new mount

They have to be pressed into the mount using an hydraulic press.

Any VW shop will know what to do.

You purchase the 'round ring', take the mount to somebody with a hydraulic press, have the old mount pushed out, and the new one pushed in.
The actual metal part of the mount is not expendable, just the rubber bushing that's press fitted into it that is more or less a wear and tear item.

Ensure the mount is oriantated the correct way when pressed into the bracket.
