  • Blown Headgasket?

Car has started to run a bit more rough lately, and starting to smell pretty yuck.
On short trips around town and hwy (less then 20 mins) it seems fine, ok power ect.

Anything longer then 30 mins it tends to feel boggy, lack of power. half throttle, 3/4 and full seems same sorta power as 1/4 throttle. and the car gets a little warm.

Under the Oil cap its milky as, and few cluggy bits. the hose from the tappet cover to the airfilter is full of milky crap too. but if i check dip stick the oil is fine :S

    Any idea's?

    yea I reckon it's blown.

the dipstick might still look OK, but that's cause water sits ontop of the oil. if it's milky under the cap I reckon it's a goner!

go get a pressure test (at any decent workshop) if you want to confirm..

sounds a lot like it mate. Have you done the check for bubbles in the radiator?

I guess having rollas you'd know all about headgaskets ay??? I had 3 rollas and they all blew them atleast once lol.

fark that looks nasty, looks as though in that first post-drift pic some work has been done previously around the damaged area.

Dan I think there is a recent thread on here in regards to headgaskets and repacements.

Milky oil on the filler cap doesn't automatically mean blown head gasket dude. It's winter! Condensation does that. Take it for a 30 minute drive and get it nice and hot then look- I bet most of that has cleared up. Is it using water? If it isn't, i very much doubt you have a serious problem. A very smart friend of mine totally agrees with me, too.
